FLL Teams

FLL®

FLL® is designed for grades four through eight, ages nine to 16 (nine to 14 in the United States, Canada, and Mexico), and up to 10 children per team. It introduces children to the fun and experience of solving real-world problems by applying STEM concepts.

Each Fall, FLL® announces an annual Challenge to teams, which engages them in authentic scientific research and hands-on robotics design using LEGO® MINDSTORMS® technologies. After approximately eight intense weeks, the FLL® season culminates at high-energy, sports-like tournaments.

These teams are guided by their imaginations and adult coaches. They design their own solution to a current scientific question or problem, and build autonomous LEGO® robots that perform a series of missions. Through their participation, children develop valuable life skills and discover exciting career possibilities while learning that they can make a positive contribution to society.

What FLL® teams accomplish is nothing short of amazing. It's fun. It's exciting. And the skills they learn will last a lifetime.
